(Artist spotlight) A Gem from Lauryn Hill (By G. Othello)

Throughout the song Lauryn speaks to the women and men about respect and self-worth.
She tells women to stop objectifying themselves and wants them to realize their value. She also says that women deserve more than just respect and women are more than a sexual object. She also mentions that if you gave up that thing once, you would probably do it again. In one line Lauryn says “Showing off your ass cause you’re thinking it’s a trend.”

Now look at the way things are now. More than ever women are showing off their bodies. Just refer to Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat, and the list goes on.
In the second verse she speaks to men that are “more concerned with his rims and his Timbs than his women”.
